The track model of the frame is constructed completely by us, that means from the original design conception of the custom model on our computer modeling software, through detailed silver soldering of all weld points, to grinding and cleaning the joints. The frame is constructed from steel tubes made by Columbus, which are triple-butted steel tubes Spirit HSS. The NIOBIUM alloy tubes were developed, so that the finished frame would have all the best mechanical properties with the least amount of weight possible without compromise of integrity.

Profiling of the tubes substantially contributes to the properties of the frame. The down tube is placed at the head tube and shaped as a drop for better aerodynamics, at the bottom bracket shell is the shape adapted for greater axial rigidity of the frame. The rear stays have profiling for higher lateral and vertical stiffness. The conical shape of the head tube provides excellent torsional rigidity. Through the combination of these properties the frame achieves maximum strength, perfect acceleration, the ability to keep track of the wheel and at the same time immediately respond to a change of direction.

The actual geometry of the frame underscores material properties. Placement of the top tube enhances the compactness of the frame. Due to the selected angles of the head and seat tube, the higher center location and shorter rear stays, enables the rider absolute control of the bike.

Track fork Columbus - Pista Leggera has CNC machined dural head crow blades which are made from T700 UD carbon fiber. This combination ensures efficient power transmission and eliminates energy loss. The 35 mm rake ensures excellent maneuverability even at the velodrome as well as at criteriums.
